Kyrgyzpatent and Asiainfo to reach the full mutual understanding regarding redelegation of the right to administer the “KG” ccTLD
The State Patent Service of the Kyrgyz Republic (Kyrgyzpatent) confirms that the complete mutual understanding has been achieved between Kyrgyzpatent and AsiaInfo Company regarding redelegation of the right to administer the “KG” ccTLD.
In the official notification of May 23, 2009, addressed to Kyrgyzpatent, the AsiaInfo officials acknowledged their readiness to transfer the right to administer the “KG” ccTLD to Kyrgyzpatent according to the Decree of President No 192 of April 7, 2009 “On functioning of the National Domain Zone”.
The notification on this matter has been also sent to the International Corporation for Assigned Names and Numbers (ICANN).
Mrs. Tattu Mambetalieva, Director of the Public Foundation “Civil Initiative on Internet Policy” has supported execution of the Decree of President and confirmed her intention to participate in the further elaboration of legal framework “KG” zone administration, particularly domain names registration and regulation of registrars’ activities.
Kyrgyzpatent is fully satisfied by the reached consensus as it would progress the procedure of redelegation of the right to administer the “KG” ccTLD, to be made by the ICANN and would be useful for all Internet users in Kyrgyzstan. Recognition of civil liability and proper enforcement of the Presidential Decree by all its subjects confirms the supremacy of Law in the Kyrgyz Republic and promotes legitimate behavior of every player of the Internet in our country.
